About the role

As a Clinical Development Associate at knok, you will work closely with our CMO in researching, implementing, and evaluating patient journey initiatives within hospital settings. This role will involve conducting research on patient experiences, piloting new interventions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise care delivery processes.

Your role:

  • Conducting thorough research on clinical best practices, including reviewing literature, analysing case studies, and benchmarking against industry standards to inform the development and optimisation of patient care pathways.
  • Generating comprehensive reports summarising findings from research efforts and patient journey analyses, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making by the clinical development team.
  • Assisting the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with data analysis tasks, including collecting, organising, and analysing clinical data related to patient outcomes, treatment efficacy, and healthcare utilisation to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with the clinical research team and other stakeholders to draft and prepare papers, articles, and presentations for publication in medical journals, conference proceedings, and industry forums, showcasing research findings and insights derived from clinical patient journey initiatives.
  • Verify the quality and integrity of clinical data collected during clinical follow-up initiatives and clinical pilots through regular monitoring, verification, and validation activities, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, project managers and data analysts, to promote the success of every clinical implementation.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry guidelines, and ethical standards governing clinical research and patient care, including adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical patient journey programs, incorporating feedback, lessons learned, and emerging best practices into future initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborate with the clinical development team to write and prepare papers, articles, and presentations documenting findings from patient journey studies.
  • Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of pilot programs aimed at testing and refining new patient journey interventions, technologies, or care delivery models.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness and impact of patient journey interventions and pilot programs, driving continuous improvement and innovation in patient care delivery.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on patient journeys within hospital settings, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Provide data analysis support to evaluate program effectiveness, patient outcomes, and resource utilization.

Who you are

To be considered for this role, here are the skills we’re looking for:

  • Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong research skills with the ability to conduct comprehensive literature reviews and analyse data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and findings to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working in healthcare or clinical research, with knowledge of patient care processes and hospital operations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and ethical standards governing clinical research and patient care.
  • Passion for improving patient experiences and driving innovation in healthcare delivery.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in scientific research and/or healthcare.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SPSS, SAS, or R.
